Make Extension lines - Enlarge smaller or move the dimension. (I think this has LISP-Joe)ĬMS IntelliCAD QCAD is another cheap alternative 2D CAD.ĭoubleCAD XT is free and feature rich 2D CAD, compatible with DWG. You cant trim that protruding bit of a line at the top left because it is part of the dimension. IntelliCAD clone should be cheap enough and read-write DWG file. See Layer List Dock for details on setting a layers attributes. My own list of DWG editor alternatives is: Note Just as with entities, pens can also be applied to layers. Personally, I need something with very close approximation of the AutoCAD interface. Your user may not be able to edit any of BIM related stuff, but the objects will be there.Ĭoncerning cheaper alternatives to BricsCAD, a lot depends on your needs. It enables the users to create comprehensive geometric and CAD drawings like entities, layers, blocks and also the coordinate systems. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Librecad but in the Modify menu there are no Properties. From the posted image I can find the Properties but I can not change the thickness of the drawn lines. I have not used BIM, but suspect that all the entities will be native DWG entities, with the specialized BIM items having proxy objects. Re: I can not find Properties from the Modify menu. Absolute When using absolute coordinates, whether Cartesian or polar, points are entered in direct relation to the origin (0,0). There are a few free and very lost cost alternatives out there, that say they read/write native DWG files. In LibreCAD lines, points, arcs, polylines, circles, and many more entities can be placed in a drawing using either absolute or relative coordinate input. I wish they would offered a lower cost version with some of the features disabled. BricsCAD's price has certainly grown a lot, as its features and compatibility has increased. ![]()
